Stress has been found to under lay many disorders including the anxiety disorders and depressive disorders. There are many ways that our stress rises though the major factors are the way we react to our environment, the we react to our body/illness and the added stress of restricted time.
Stress generally manifests itself in our daily life in the way that react to stressors in or life. The three ways are responding with Anger, responding with fear or responding with distress.
Our approach to stress is very explorative as we need to find out all of the stressors that are leading to your symptoms. Our stress program is a very efficient way to evaluate your stressors, which highlights the way we head with therapy and tools to reduce your stress.
Hypnotherapy and NLP can help based on its ability to communicate with the conscious and unconscious part of the mind that keeps you stuck in the habits of reactivity and those patterns of behaviour that keep you in the state of survival. During sessions we explore the reason that underlay your stress using an in depth questionnaires, which guides the way in which we move forward with the sessions tailored to you.
I believe that it is imperative to understand what is happening within your mind and body to enable us to cooperatively enable the shift toward a place of safety and calmness. I teach an array of practical tools to take home as stress reduction often requires a lifestyle change to pull us out of the functional range of stress that leads to increased mortality.
Mindfulness stress reduction tools are wonderful as they teach you how to become responsive to the stress in your life and less reactive to it, bringing back that calmness that allows you to navigate life without being over reactive or greatly distressed.
Neurolinguistic programming (NLP) is an amazing modality full of tools to assist a multitude of situation in life to give the power back to you to create real change. I also use mindfulness to reprogram the way you react to stress in your environment, to a place of responding in a calm and confident way. The hypnotic process differs between therapists and considering that stress is always under laying factor in most that I work with, my sessions are designed to be very calm and relaxing and secure. The hardest part is leaving the serenity of the therapy chair.
With time clients find the peace that has alluded them now understanding the mechanisms that lead to stress and then developing long-term life changes to balance it effectively.

“I’ve recently completed a Stress Reduction Program with Scott. I’ve learnt some really effective daily practices and benefited from hypnotherapy sessions aimed at helping me reach a super relaxed state; boosting my self-worth; gaining an understanding of past experiences and how they can (unknowingly) cause me stress; and completely removing inexplicable pain. Scott took me on a journey which has meant I’m pain-free, empowered to be in control of what will serve-me (enabling me to make better decisions – for me), and with an appreciation that it’s just as important to “un-do” every day as much as it is to “do”. I was particularly impressed with pain-removal hypno session where Scott completely removed pain I had experienced down my side that wasn’t related to a health issue. He taught my mind to deploy more healthy techniques to respond to what life throws at you. Thank you Scott for taking me on this journey and helping me become a happier, healthier and better version of myself. You are really gifted at what you do. Highly recommend!”
